Drew Graduates From Mission Viejo High School! Yay!!!

Well, here they are - the graduating class of 2008! Can you see Drew? He's the one in the red cap and gown third row in, fifth one on the left from the middle! He! He! He! 735 students - the largest graduating class in MVHS history!

And of course, what wouldn't make it the perfect graduation day without a little heat wave of 97 degrees? Luckily, Jeff has connections and he saved us seats so we could rest with backs and not have to come at 4:30. We were able to stroll in at 6:25 for the 6:30 processional.

Drew jumps into his friend, Scott Shimizu's arms to congratulate each other!

Luke adores his big brother and truly looks up to him!

Our family all came down on the field to celebrate.
Good times...

Noel and I decorated Drew's car all over!

Drew sang with his friend Johnny Bisaha "Imagine" in front of the thousands at his graduation ceremony! Take a listen :)

Watch the class of 2008 move their tassels over and toss their caps into the air!

Drew and Noel's Graduation Luncheon!

Drew and Noel had a graduation lunch after Noel's "Clap Out" and before Drew's Graduation Ceremony. We went to BJ's Pizzeria and of course, had pizookies for dessert! Yummy!!!

Their cousin, Nicole, surprised them - flying in from S.L.C. and arriving at the restaurant!

Grandma Allred came to celebrate too!

Noel got a summer purse she'd been wanting from Target.

Noel's Awards and "Clap Out" of Elementary!

Noel had her 6th grade awards for the end of the year. She did such a good job, especially for coming to a brand new school. I kept telling her she reminded me of Gabrielle from High School Musical! Noel got the lead in her class play, "School House Rock", she earned the President's Physical Fitness Award (only 20 sixth grader's got it), she got the citizenship award each term, the President's Education Award for 2 years of straight A's, and she received the Faculty Award Medal for all around student (only 3 sixth grader's got it), and her photo and name on a plaque in the office now! Way to go Gabrielle, oops... I mean Noel :)

Noel and two of her close friends, Sophia and Elise, enjoying a piece of cake.

Here is Noel in front of her sixth grade class tile mosaic.

Hers is the left corner heart with her name in it.

The sixth grade get a "Clap Out" from the whole school on their last day. All the other grades make noise makers and blow bubbles as the sixth graders make their way for the last time through the school. Mr. Sneider, the principal, shoots out confetti while they walk by - it's really a fun way to end their last day of elementary.

Here is Noel walking through the crowd,
being a sixth grader for the last time. :(

Besides our own little family coming to watch, Noel's Grandma Starr, Aunt Christy, and Cousin Dane came too!

Shera's End Of The Year Party!

Shera's 2nd grade class had a year end pizza party. She loves her teacher Mrs. Essenwanger. All the kids just call her Mrs. E.

This is Shera's desk. She always had a group of children around her. She has adjusted to her new school well and likes it a lot.

We made white on white cupcakes with hearts and frog princes for the class.
Very cute!

Jeff was busy at the end of the year events at MVHS,
so he wasn't able to make it.

But Jeff's sister, Christy and our nephew, Dane were able to visit that day.
It was a nice treat for Shera!

Luke's Wheelie Day!

At the end of the school year Luke's class gets to bring any wheel transportation to school for wheelie day. What a fun way to end the year!

Here is Luke with the best kindergarten teacher in the world, Mrs. Keller.

He was going so fast, they were telling him to slow down!

One of Luke's best friends, Scotty, rode his bike with him!

There were bikes, skates, heelies, and razors all parked here.
Very cute!

Jeff Turns 22 1/2 Again!!!

So the joke goes like this... Every year everyone else gets older, but Dad... always 22 1/2 years old on June 17th! Now Luke is starting to get suspicious since Drew is starting to catch up to Dad. LOL This morning we got up while Jeff was getting ready for work and Drew and I wrote all over his car.

He came out, smiled, started shaking his head, and said, "I'm taking another car!"

No way was that going to happen! So he reluctantly got in his (mid-life crisis) car and drove to school, hearing honking all the way...

He asked for one of his favorite cakes, the "BTS Cake".
(need more info? email me!!!)
aka: The Tom Selleck Cake. I guess it's supposed to make you look like Tom Selleck?

Either way you look at him - he's a hunk to me!

Time To Say Goodbye by Drew and Holly!

All the end of year events have been happening for the past month and one of our favorites was when Drew and Holly were able to perform "Time To Say Goodbye" together. This was at their voice teacher, Joan's, senior recital. She asked Holly to be a special guest artist for the evening and was the only non-senior to participate that night. They each did two solos as well! This is one of my favorite songs and is quite difficult to do. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!!!

Holly's OCMCO Concert!

Holly had her third and final performance of the year at Segerstrom Concert Hall for the Orange County Mormon Chorale Organization on June 11th. It was patriotic themed and a very nice night. All veterens were asked to stand and everyone gave them a standing ovation! It was very touching and inspirational.

Grams Allred and we were all there to support her.

Holly's friend, Taylor Campbell, came as well.

Our Neice, Josalyn Smith Gets Married!

We were so excited to share this special day with Josalyn at the San Diego Temple. She married a nice returned missionary, Robert Haws.

Ah... young love... Aren't they adorable?

Holly and Papa visited for a while at the reception. They have a very sweet relationship.

Jeff and his sister, Christy, look a lot alike!
Don't you think???

Here, Drew and his cousin, Dane, were taking a break from the dance floor!

Luke's Limo Ride To McDonald's!

Yep! That's right! One of Luke's friends from his class, Jackson Smith, won a trip to McDonald's in a white stretch hummer limo! They were picked up at the park and taken to the golden arches just a couple miles down the road. The kids had a great time!

Luke is the silly one on the far right! They watched a movie while driving there!

The limo happened to be our friend's, Leigh Hrabik, and she was driving it too!

I drove along side for a while and got this photo of them through my window!

Drew Sings at the MVHS Pops Concert!

The kids at Mission put together a Pops Concert at the end of the year. They try out with different songs and Drew got to sing a solo and help out with a couple of others. Charles Long is a very talented young man and he wrote this parody called, "Malnutritious". Listen to the words in this song - it is so funny!

Here is Drew singing, "West Coast". He messes up the words 2 different times, but Jeff and I love how he saves the song and can end up pulling it off anyway!

Holly in Charlotte's Web

Holly was in the Drama 2 production of Charlotte's Web last Thursday and Friday. It was a really fun show because they actually had it on the Ag. Farm at the high school!

Holly plays Fern's mother. She is on the far left.

Holly's friend, Robin, played the part of Charlotte and did a great job!

The chickens were really funny and had super costumes!

Grams came down on the farm too!
It reminded her of home!

Laguna Beach With The Dogs!

On May 31st we took the dogs down to Laguna to let them experience the ocean. Sasha had been to the river a lot but never the ocean. And Heidi hasn't experienced either one. We all had so much fun in the water.

Look at those good-looking legs!

Heidi and Sasha raced around all over!

The kids got in the water, clothes and all!
Of course, they froze afterwards! But we brought blankets for everyone to cuddle up in on the ride home!

Drew caught a crab and let everybody take a turn holding it.

It was great even with it being cold!

Luke got really cold and Drew carried him up to the car!
What a wonderful big brother he has!

This is one of our favorite places in the world!

End of the Year Scripture Chase!

Last weekend our stake had the end of the year scripture chase. Each seminary class has a race to find different scriptures with hints that are given to the kids. It's a lot of fun to watch and the kids really get into it!

Here is Drew's class with their teacher, Brother Shields as the proctor.

Holly's class was right beside Drew's. Her teacher was President Hobbins this year. They both had amazing teachers who have to prepare daily lessons to teach at 5:00am every morning to these kids!

Drew, Marshall and Jake all dressed up as Moses in honor of learning about the Old Testament this year!

Ultimately, it was Holly's class that won against about 15 classes overall! Yay Holly!!!

The guys had a little chant they would do after each chase. So funny!!!
