WOO HOO!!!!!!!! Way to go DREW!!! We are so proud of you, you little smartie! :-) BYU was made for you- I know you will just thrive there. We couldn't be more proud and excited. Now...Try to focus the rest of your Senior year! Haha...(I got into the Y on November 20th- It's hard to stay motivated all year, but it pays off to have your applications in early). CONGRATS!
Drew is going to hate me for this comment, BUT...I was the one who voted on NO CAR for his Freshman year. I begged my parents to let me take mine up (since it sat in our driveway for 10 months), but looking back, I am SO GLAD that I didn't. Not having a car is part of being a freshman and it teaches you a lot. Plus, you get to have lots of adventures (like WALKING through the snow to the dollar theater and to my hair appointments, facials, and the dry cleaners...Haha! Just thinking about it makes me laugh). Most freshman don't have cars anyway (plus, it's impossible to find parking), and it seemed that the kids who did have cars were more secluded and didn't have as many friends because they were always off doing their own thing. There will be plenty of time for that stuff (skiing, drives up the canyon, etc.) the next 3 years. So that's my vote...No car! Sorry for this LONG post!
Carol! That is so great! Congratulations, Drew! Please tell him I am so excited for him; he will fit in so well and have so much fun (on the side of studying, of course!) Can't wait to see you next week and hear all the details in person!
Wait a second...Drew is old enough for college?! That's not possible!!! Doesn't he know how that makes some people feel?!
But, seriously...Congratulations, Drew! That is such exciting news. I am sure that he will do well and have lots of fun!
