We took a limo, two planes, a shuttle bus, three trains, and walked to our hotel. Twenty-four hours later we were in Viterbo, Italy! I have to say, Luke (8) and Shera (10) were troopers! We immediately met Holly and had a lunch of pasta and pizza!
In front of the San Lorenzo Cathedral was the setting of the opera, Suor Angelica. We sat in the second row of this huge piazza San Lorenzo - with a perfect view of Holly. The evening was just the right temperature - it was a beautiful night.
Holly is the short one in the middle. There was a full orchestra. She loved the people she worked with and the new friends she made!
After the opera, the performers came out in their costumes for photos. Holly said her nun costume was very warm and didn't breathe well.
We stayed with Holly for 3 days and then rented a car and toured Italy - what an adventure! Here is Noel holding up Pisa with her foot! We climbed to the top - Shera didn't stay long. She had a little vertigo.
Parco dei Mostri (Monster Park) in Bomarzo, Italy is on the grounds of Villa Orsini. In the 16th century, grotesque Gothic sculptures were carved out of the rocks - it is now open to the public - pretty cool!
We took the "Green Line" Double Decker bus for easy on and offs in Rome. Luke and Shera loved the Colosseum. Did you know that Cleopatra gave cats to Julius Caesar as a gift but he was allergic and turned them out. The cats survived and now there are thousands of wild cats that wander the ruins of Rome. It's true!!!

Oh, Italy! We went there as a family right after I graduated high school. It was amazing. What neat memories for all of you!
I am so blown away by this opportunity that Holly had in Italy, so incredible!! And even more exciting that your family got to experience it too! Wow!
My favorite city in Italy is Florence, but Venice was cool, too!
