Here's a sample of what our area looked like this past week! Our hearts go out to those that lost their homes and loved ones...
We saw the smoke begin on Sunday at about 6:30pm. And it just took off from there!
The Santa Ana winds were so bad this week it set our fires into motion. The winds would change and the direction of the fires would too.
They closed down the road and evacuated Trabuco Canyon. We pass this on our way to Luke, Shera and Noel's school, Robinson Elementary. The schools closed last Thursday, Friday and Monday. Everyone stayed inside - needless to say - we all got cabin fever!
We could see the fires from almost every room of our house. From the front we saw the Irvine/Trabuco Canyon Fire and from the back, the Camp Pendleton fire!
You can see the fire right up by the power lines. Some people lost electricity and street lights went out. Scary...
A friend of ours sent us this photo taken from Lake Mission Viejo. It looks like the whole sky was on fire.
The news crews were here by the Oso Reservoir just below our ward building.
The helicopters would fill buckets of water and carry them over to the flames. Every 5 minutes or so there were from 3-5 that would come back and refill. A lot of people came to watch the fires from our church - it was wild there! Thank you fire fighters for all you do!!!

Great pictures Carol! Wasn't that crazy!? We were surrounded by the Poomacha fire, the Fallbrook fire, and could see smoke from Santiago, Pendelton and Arrowhead fires! I'm glad that things are getting back to "normal"!
