Luke's 6th Birthday Party! Sooby Dooby Doo!!!

We celebrated Luke's 6th Birthday Party last Friday with his school friends. He loves Scooby Doo so that was our theme.

Our baby is growing up too fast...

Here was Shera's turn to play put the dog tag on Scooby's collar! She was way off!

Luke is rolling the die to unwrap the multi-wrapped present - fun game!

Our electricity had gone off the day before and it reset our sprinkler timers to go off 15 minutes before the party began. So instead of doing the backyard pizza picnic - we had the driveway pizza picnic!!!

Happy Happy Birthday my sweet little Lukie!!!

Our Annual Mother's and Daughter's Trip!

Whenever it's Father's and Son's, we have Mother's and Daughter's! The big difference is the boys go camping and the girls go to a nice hotel! (I still haven't gotten the boy's photos from them yet, soon hopefully!) This year Grandma Allred joined us at the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach. We used the workout room and swam in the pool.We went for Thai food that night for dinner.

The next morning Noel, Shera, and I walked along the beach. It was a very low tide and we were able to enjoy the tide pools. The girls touched sea anemones, sea snails, and starfish, climbed on the rocks covered in mussels, and splash around.

They rolled up their pants, but it didn't help much!

Sweet Shera!

Mom and I enjoying breakfast the next morning!

We were right on the beach and heard the waves through the night. It was so peaceful and so much fun! I LOVE Mother's and Daughter's! Thanks boys!!!

Prom Night for Holly and Drew!

Last Saturday was MVHS's Prom at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. This was Holly's first :) and Drew's last. :( Everyone had a fun night. Drew's group of 22 met with Holly's group of 10 for pictures together here first. Then they split for dinner - Drew's - Kings Fish House, Holly's - California Pizza Kitchen.

Drew went with Laura Dimler from his Chamber Choir.

The guys showing their moves!

The stud muffins!
Marshall, Drew, and Dale!

Holly went with Chris Halstrom from Chamber Choir too.

Holly had a great group and they called themselves, "9MormonsandaJew!"

Drew's group took one of those huge Hummer Limos that hold 22 kids! Pretty wild and crazy!!!

Hey! Look who else had fun chaperoning the dance!!!

From 12-2am we had an after-party pancake breakfast bar with juice and sausages at our home for about 50 kids. Then they played Sardines - fun game!

Then we all died!

Cinco de Mayo!

Who doesn't love to celebrate Cinco de Mayo - especially in Southern California? We wanted to eat yummy burritos last night, so off we went to one of Drew's favorite hangouts...

Yep! Chipotle Mexican Grill!

We all had our fill of Mexican. It was delish!

When we got home, I thought I'd look up the calorie count on the computer (Just for fun!) and my good times were battered and beaten against the wall! (Don't read any further if you don't want to know how much one of those enticing burritos are!) Anywhere from 1,000 to 1,400 calories! I mean, even if you split one - they're still a lot! Thanks McDonald's for making us "Think we're making good choices"?

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!?

Tear Jerker of a Movie!

Holly and Noel had never seen the movie, "A Walk to Remember" with Mandy Moore and Shane West. So we decided to watch it the other night and boy did the waterworks start! The girls and I were crying so much! My eyes were swollen half shut - seriously! We went through half a box of tissues. So when I started to take a photo - they put down theirs and the boys grabbed them! Ha! Ha! Ha! Anyway, it's a great movie if you've never seen it - cuddle up to your honey and watch it!

Laguna Beach Getaway!

We went to Laguna Beach for a quick getaway alone! It felt like paradise! We needed a little time to ourselves and left Drew and Holly in charge. We had the added pleasure of returning to a clean home with ALL THE LAUNDRY DONE! AMAZING!!!

One of our favorite restaurants in Laguna is Las Brisas. We had nachos and pina coladas (virgin) out on the patio for dinner.

The view was incredible upon the cliffs!

There was a wedding that took place right below our balcony on the beach that afternoon. Everyone was barefoot and it looked very romantic, even with sunbathers looking on!

There was a beautiful sunset from our balcony. We were in heaven!

Of course, I'm always in heaven when I'm with my honey!
Gush...Gush...Gush...

Strawberry Season!

There was a great sale on strawberries at Henry's - 77 cents per pound! So, I came home with 4 bags full on Monday! Luke and I decided to make strawberry jam!

Washing and hulling is most boring...

Luke's favorite part - adding the sugar.
Of course he can't help but taste it a little!!!

Messy... Messy... Messy... Pouring and Measuring :)

Here are some of them! We ended up making 62 jars of yumminess waiting for bread!!!
