3-13-2009 Friday - Drew Recieves His Mission Call! Yahoo!!!

A lot of us took our guesses at where we thought Drew would be serving his mission. We pretty much covered all of Europe, South America and even parts of Africa and Asia.

Here is Drew about to open his letter. He waited four hours for Holly to get home from school so that she could be there.

After Drew read his call, he and his dad hugged.
Isn't that a sweet one...

Grams and Drago came for the opening too!

Afterwards, we celebrated by going to one of Drew's favorite restaurants, Five Crowns. Noel had sewn him a homemade teddy bear to take with him on his mission!

Holly is already having withdrawal issues.
But she is very happy for him though.
So, the big question is where in the world is Drew going???
Well, watch below for the details... :)

No one guessed the place he is going...

I couldn't help but bawl as I watched that video! Congratulations Drew!!!! The people of Puerto Rico will be SO SO SO lucky to have you. What an amazing place to spend 2 years of your life. We love you!! I honestly can't believe you are already going on a MISSION! That makes me feel so old...I am so proud of you, and hope my future sons will be just like you.

P.S.- We can't wait to send you care packages. :)

This is absolutely perfect, Drew!!! You get to go “foreign” (sort of…), become fluent in Spanish (so useful!!!), and still be relatively safe in American territory!
You’ll be an absolutely superlative missionary and I can already envision how the next two years will unfold!!! This COULD NOT BE BETTER!!!! Heartfelt congratulations ~~ we love you!!!

Wow....we are so excited for Drew. I hope Puerto Rico is ready... he will do great. Next time we see him we can practice chatting in Espanyol :) And not a bad place to have to pick him up in a couple of years... The Caribbean is always welcoming visitors :) Congratulations to the whole Starr crew.
