Jeff gave a great lesson for Family Night tonight on the Anti-Nephi-Lehi's. He talked about how they buried all of their weapons and covenanted not to use them anymore. Then he asked us to think of a sin that we struggle with and write it on this piece of paper.
We folded them up and went out to the garden. Jeff dug a hole and we all put our papers inside the hole. We promised to not commit the sin anymore just like in the story.
Jeff covered the hole back up with dirt. It was a very revealing thing to do because instead of saying we are not going to commit that particular sin anymore, we were physically getting rid of the sin. There was a feeling of finality and reality to it. It seemed more real to all of us.Pretty intense, but pretty cool...
